Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies
100g margarine (stork or an equivalent)
75g soft brown sugar
3 tbsp golden syrup*
175g Self raising flour
100g chocolate chopped (dark, milk or white or a mixture)
2 tbsp milk
Greased baking trays
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Cream the margarine and the sugar together until light and fluffy - you can do this with a spoon, a fork, or a mixer (it is much easier and quicker with a mixer).
Stir in the rest of the ingredients to make a soft dough.
Place in teaspoons on the prepared trays, flatten down with a fork slightly and bake for 8 - 10 minutes,
Once golden brown carefully remove from the trays with a heat proof spatula; cool on wire racks. Be careful at this stage as they will be very soft.
Once cool enough to eat enjoy with a cup of tea, Eat with caution - it's very difficult to only eat one!!
*Regarding the amount of syrup - if you are using an old fashioned tablespoon rather than a measure you'll only need two heaped tablespoons.
